Frequently Asked Questions

Let’s make something memorable together.

The Basics

What is the order process?

It’s simple! You can contact me by phone (513) 315-1823 or email 4everquilts@gmail.com.  We can book a consulting time to discuss a design and details for your quilt.

Can I include sweatshirts, clothes, ties, polo shirts, flannel shirts, button up shirts….?

Yes, most fabrics can be used and it is possible to mix different fabric types. Appliqué fees may apply for certain fabrics.

Can I choose the layout of my t-shirts in the quilt?

Yes, I will send you a layout before it is quilted unless you already have a pattern in mind.

Do I need to wash my t-shirts before sending them?

Yes, please, the shirts need to be clean.

What if my t-shirts have holes or stains in them?

I accept any t-shirt you provide expecting you to understand that the quality of your 4 Ever Quilt depends somewhat on the quality of the shirts provided. Stains and small tears can add character to the quilt reminding you of the story behind them.

Should I cut my t-shirt?

No, thank you. You can leave the cutting to 4 Ever Quilts. Just send or give me the whole shirts and I will send back a cozy memorable quilt.

Someone else started making a quilt for me and my t-shirts are a mess. Can you still make it into a quilt?

Yes, I have fixed many shirts and projects that were started. If the t-shirts are different sizes or uneven, I can appliqué them onto fabric and then sew them together.

What happens to the scraps from my t-shirts after the squares have been cut?

Any whole shirts will be returned. Scraps can be returned or donated to be made into pillows for the local League for Animal Welfare.

Is there anything I should avoid when I lay out my quilt?

If you have a shirt with graphics near the binding zone, it is in danger of being cropped.

What colors do you have for your backing fabric?

Backing is the fabric on the opposite side of your shorts. 4 Ever Quilts uses only 100% cotton backing fabric, flannel or a specialty fabric such as minky for an additional fee. Generally a neutral color is used, but a complementary color could be recommended.

How many shirts do I need to make a quilt?

Provide 3-5 extra shirts. This helps with the designing process.

How long does it take to finish a quilt?

It usually takes 4 weeks to finish your quilt after receiving your shirts. Rush orders can be completed for an additional charge. Christmas and graduation are busy season, so it may take a little longer during these times.
